Like I said, so much to learn.

Time for Some Patriotism

Three posts in one day!  I'm on a roll, y'all!  Debbie, you're gonna be sorry you pushed me in this direction.  =)

Here's a link to a youtube video Dad sent me.  I know that one of my four followers -- wheee!-  happens to be a Darius fan.  (Hi, Gretch!)

I was kinda fumbling my way around, trying to figure out how to add the video to the blog.  I thought the "video screen" would show up with the text "Angel Flight" above it.  But looks like I was wrong.  So much to learn.  Anywho, click on the link for your viewing entertainment.

       Angel Flight!

Thanks, Dad!

About 23 years ago . . .

I'm back!  Two posts in one day.  Does that make up for my prior procrastination?

Thought I'd share a little scrappy goodness.  Each time I go scrapping, I try to do a  couple pages from "back in the day."  Here's one of my most recent.  I think it's appropriate, given that we're approaching Halloween.

The journaling reads:    "Honestly, have you ever seen a cuter sheriff?  Look at that precious face - with the mascara mustache...  Ryan was never picky about his Halloween costumes - he was never really picky about anything - very easy-going.  I don't think it's a mother's bias, I just think it's a fact that he was a really sweet boy.  I was proud of him then - and I'm proud of him today."     =)

I sewed all the "border" onto the page and sewed on my journaling, as well as the zig-zag stitching at the top.  I'm not turning out pretty clothes with my sewing machine like Mom did, but, hey, at least my machine is put to good use.

** Great.  I just ran spell check and realize I misspelled "sheriff" on my journaling.  I even found someone with a dictionary and looked it up.  great.  I should have just said "law enforcement dude."

Extended Family . . .

Whoa!  Where did the time go?  Looks like this ol' blog is yet another thing I procrastinate with -- on.  Whatever.  Yes, I ended a sentence with a preposition.  It's my blog.  =)

So I left you last time with K's big fly ball.  Lo and behold if she didn't catch another one!  Of course, then a few games later, she hit a fly ball and it was caught.  There may have been a tear or two shed.  It's tough being seven and a half.

So for a quick September recap, we went to Ryan and Molly's to celebrate Pam's birthday.  I'm pretty sure she's 49...  Kaitlyn made a nice birthday sign that greeted everyone on the front porch.  Ryan had the iPod set up with music he knew Pam would like, and had the Ping-Pong table and the corn-hull-bean-bag-toss-thing (whatever it's called) set up too.  Nolan went to sleep right on cue, and the whole time we sat outside and ate and visited, he was snoozing in his stroller.  It was the perfect night to sit around outside and enjoy just being there.

Yea!  I got pictures to upload!  Uh-oh.  Y'all are so in trouble now, that's all I can say.

The next weekend we were invited to Whit and Janet's house, Molly's dad and step mom.  It was another great night and we got to enjoy eating out on the deck.  I'd already heard what a cook Janet was, and she certainly lived up to her reputation!  I may or may not have had a piece of both her homemade key lime pie and her homemade caramel pie.  I'm just sayin'.

Lillian and Kaitlyn had a big time, with everything from playing with the American Girl dolls, riding the zip line, providing us a little entertainment inspired by the "check it out girls" on tv, and topping it off with a game or two of Twister .  The older kids -- Ryan, Wes, and Chip -- provided musical entertainment of their own.  Janet had said she was going to make Ryan play for his dinner.  We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

I have been so blessed with this new extended family of ours.  They've all stepped right into Kaitlyn's life without missing a step.  She and Nolan are truly the blessed ones.  My heart is just spilling over.

Okay.  I think I'll call it quits here with the family recap.  I've got more to share, so never you worry.  I've got ball pictures to share, a scrapbook page or two, and there may even be a picture of a certain little almost-three-month-old.

Oh, wait!  How did that happen?  Told ya y'all were in trouble.  I'll be posting again really soon . . . now that I can add pictures!  I'm literally clapping my hands and letting out a little squeal right now.   =)

First Fly Ball!

All right! I've discovered the perfect forum for a little grandmother bragging updating. In Tuesday night's softball game, Miss K closed her eyes and held out her glove caught her first fly ball! Woo-hoo! Ryan was on the field, too, as an assistant coach. He describes it as being in slow motion for him. Believe it or not, I didn't have my camera with me... She also got a base hit each time at bat, and tagged a runner out at third. 'Atta girl!

These games are typically the highlight of my day, provided the weather is nice. I definitely prefer fall ball to spring ball. I'm pretty much a fair-weathered fan, literally. We've got a game tonight, too, providing it doesn't rain it out. My camera and I will be there. Lesson learned on that.

Speaking of learning, tomorrow I'll learn how to include a picture in my post! See, Mom? We're both learning new things!

It's official!

I'm doing this. Mom, you're my inspiration. If you're going to learn to use the computer, I'm going to give you something to check each day, to become part of your routine. I'll post pictures of the kiddos -- once I figure that part out -- and updates from my little corner of the world. Let's give this baby a try . . .
